First of all, this hat is adorable. It’s based on the BB-8 character from Star Wars, who is very cute in the movie as well. The designer is Level Up Nerd Apparel. The hat is crocheted and uses mostly basic techniques of double crochets, increases and decreases, and color changes. The designer does a great job in her pattern of describing the techniques and does give details on how to work color changes. You will need worsted weight yarn in white, black, orange and grey for this pattern. The hat took me only a couple days to work up. It would have been faster, but I made a mistake and had to tear it back. Thankfully, that is very fast to do with crochet.
